TinCaps release promotional schedule

DYLAN SINN | The Journal Gazette

Even though it doesn't feel like it outside, baseball season is rapidly approaching. Wednesday the TinCaps released their promotional schedule for the season, a roster of events that features fireworks after 32 different games and a wide array of other themes and entertainment.

The first of those 32 fireworks games will be Opening Night, April 7 at Parkview Field. Less than two weeks later on April 20, the TinCaps will celebrate their 10th season at their home stadium with the Parkview Field 10th Season Celebration.

Some of the other highlights on the schedule include a Grease tribute on May 18 for the popular movie's 40th anniversary and a 2000s Night on Aug. 3 that will celebrate the first decade of the 21st century.

The schedule also features on-field attractions that have never visited Parkview Field before. Tyler's Amazing Balancing Act, which has performed at the 2017 ACC Basketball Tournament among other venues, will visit Fort Wayne on May 19. Daniel Davis, a musician who performs pop songs on the violin, will come to Parkview Field July 7.

For those of you with dogs, the promotional schedule also features two "Bark in the Park" days, one on April 21, and the other on Aug. 5, where fans can pay $12 for a ticket that includes admission for themselves and a dog. Those who want to bring their furry friend to the park those days can sign up here:

The TinCaps are looking to set a franchise attendance record for the second season in a row after drawing over 419,000 fans in 2017. They sold out 22 games at Parkview Field and ranked second among all Single-A teams in attendance.
