TinCaps complete sweep of Bowling Green

Luis Almanzar hit a go-ahead home run as the TinCaps completed a three-game sweep with a 3-1 win over Bowling Green at Parkview Field on Wednesday.
Almanzar's solo shot, his first of the season, came on a 2-1 pitch, exited at 96 miles per hour and went 345 feet over the left field wall to make the score 2-1 in the fifth.
Taylor Walls of Bowling Green (50-26, 3-4 second half) scored on a Juan Fernandez triple with two outs in the first to take a 1-0 lead.
Fort Wayne (37-39, 5-2) tied the game in the fourth when Tirso Ornelas scored on a Gabriel Arias sacrifice fly ball to left field.
Jeisson Rosario made it 3-1 for the TinCaps, scoring on a wild pitch with Luis Campusano at bat.
Fort Wayne starters gave up one earned run on nine hits, walking one and striking out one. Austin Smith and IPFW graduate Evan Miller combined for three innings of one-hit scoreless relief on the mound.
Austin Franklin struck out six for the Hot Rods, giving up two earned runs on five hits, walking three.
