The TinCaps used two three-run innings to win 6-4 against Lake County in front of 6,854 fans at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio on Saturday.
Jeisson Rosario and Robbie Podorsky scored on a Nick Feight line drive to left field. Feight scored on a Justin Lopez line drive to right field to make it 3-0 in the first inning for Fort Wayne (39-40, 7-3 second half).
In the seventh, Podorsky knocked in Luis Almanzar with his fifth double of the season. Tirso Ornelas followed up with a line-drive single to bring in Podorsky, who went 4 for 5, and Jalen Washington to make it 6-2.
The Captains (32-48, 3-7) got within 3-2 in the second and added two more in the seventh with Cantu and Jesse Berardi.
Fort Wayne starter Mason Thompson (6-4) gave up two earned runs on three hits, walked one and struck out nine in five innings. Tom Cosgrove tossed 2 1/3 innings, striking out three and Austin Smith earned the save.
Francisco Perez (5-5) gave up three runs on five hits and struck out six in six innings for Lake County.
Despite the loss, Lake County is 5-2 against Fort Wayne this season.
