The TinCaps are a finalist for the Larry MacPhail Promotional Award, which symbolizes the top promotion effort in minor-league baseball. The Larry MacPhail Promotional Award is presented to a club that demonstrates outstanding and creative marketing and promotional efforts within its community, its ballpark (including non-game events), in media, and other promotional materials. The TinCaps are one of 14 finalists out of MiLB’s 160 teams.
“This is recognition we’re exceptionally proud of, especially given the caliber of organizations in the Midwest League who do such a great job with their own promotions,” said TinCaps President Mike Nutter in a press release. “Our Vice President for Marketing and Promotions, Michael Limmer, leads our tremendous staff in attracting and entertaining fans at an elite level.”
The TinCaps have been nominated for the award seven times over the past 16 years, most recently nominated in 2013, as well as in 2009-11. Before the franchise re-branded to the TinCaps, the Fort Wayne Wizards earned the distinction in 2003-04
“I continue to marvel at the creativity and dedication of the TinCaps,” Midwest League President Dick Nussbaum said in a press release. “I congratulate the team on this and a great 2018 season.”
