Happy unofficial "The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz" Night at Parkview Field!
If you don't know what I'm referring to, then you don't get the show.
(But seriously, if you need some background – and I sure did – Dylan Sinn has you covered: www.journalgazette.net/blog/full-count/20190718/dan-le-batard-show-getting-night-at-parkview-field.)
The TinCaps were back at Parkview for the first time last night since July 5, wrapping up a workman-like 6-2 victory over Peoria in 2 hours, 12 minutes. It was a sorely-needed win for the TinCaps, who went 3-6 on an 11-day road trip and are last in the Midwest League Eastern standings. Of course, Peoria, their opponent in this three-game series, is 4-21 in the second half, dead last in the Midwest League.
Right-hander Sam Keating will take the mound for the TinCaps tonight. In his last outing, he went just 2 and 2/3 innings at Burlington and allowing five runs. It was his second-shortest start of the 10 he has made since getting called up from Extended Spring Training on May 11. His ERA sits at 5.55, and he's struck out 29 batters and allowed 5 home runs in 47 innings.
The Chiefs are sending out lefty Colin Schmid, who is 3-5 with a 4.79 ERA. He went six innings in his latest start against Lansing, allowing three earned runs on eight hits.
Effective today, outfielder Tyler Benson has joined the TinCaps from High-A Lake Elsinore, taking the roster space of Grant Little, who was placed on the seven-day Injured List.
