Bowling Green 9, TinCaps 3

TinCaps lose again to Bowling Green

Outfielder Jawuan Harris extended his season-long hitting streak to nine games and Dwanya Williams-Sutton added two hits and two RBI, but the TinCaps fell 9-3 on Thursday to the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark, their second straight loss in the series.

The first-place Hot Rods (60-42, 21-11 second half) scored four runs in the second inning and four more in the fifth to pull away against TinCaps (42-56, 11-21) starter Sam Keating, who gave up eight runs. Keating's ERA ballooned to 7.16 as he dropped to 3-7.

The TinCaps scored in the second on an Ethan Skender ground ball and got another run in the fifth when Williams-Sutton doubled in Harris. Williams-Sutton drove in Harris again in the eighth with a single and has five hits in two games in this series.

Harris continued his hot streak, going 2 for 3 with two runs scored, his fifth multi-hit game on his hitting streak.

Fort Wayne relievers Adrian Martinez and Edwuin Bencomo combined to pitch three shutout innings and strike out six without a walk.
