Bowling Green 4, TinCaps 2

TinCaps swept by Hot Rods

Dwanya Williams-Sutton had his third straight multi-hit game and Omar Cruz pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings, but all-star reliever Henry Henry couldn't hold a two-run lead and the TinCaps lost 4-2 on Friday to the Bowling Green Hot Rods at Bowling Green Ballpark, completing a sweep for the Eastern Division-leading Hot Rods.

Bowling Green (61-42, 22-11 second half) took the lead for good in the sixth, pushing across three runs to erase a 2-0 deficit. Izzy Wilson broke up the Fort Wayne shutout with an RBI single against Henry and Osmy Gregorio added a go-ahead two-out, two-run double to right that proved to be the game's biggest hit. Henry gave up three runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings.

Cruz had his best start with Fort Wayne (42-57, 11-22), giving up just two hits while walking three and striking out three.

Williams-Sutton put the TinCaps in front in the top of the first with a double that drove in Jawuan Harris. Williams-Sutton had seven hits in the three-game series and went 2 for 4 in this game. Harris walked in the first, but went 0 for 3, snapping his season-long nine-game hitting streak.

The TinCaps extended their lead in the second when Lee Solomon singled and Justin Lopez scored. Fort Wayne went 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position.
