Juan Fernandez had two hits and reliever Mason Fox made his Midwest League debut, but the TinCaps fell to the Great Lakes Loons 8-2 on Tuesday at Dow Diamond in Midland, Michigan.
The Loons (66-39, 23-15 second half) scored two runs in the first inning and never trailed. James Outman and Luke Heyer each homered for Great Lakes.
TinCaps (46-60, 13-24) starter Sam Keating struggled again, giving up six runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings. He's 0-5 in his last six starts and his ERA has climbed to 7.63.
Fernandez was the only TinCap with multiple hits and Fort Wayne did not have an RBI, going 0 for 9 as a team with runners in scoring position.
Fox, who was called up to the TinCaps on Tuesday, struck out two in a scoreless inning. He struck out 32 in 19 innings at short-season Tri-City.
