The Komets dropped their third straight in a 3-1 loss to the Toledo Walleye in front of 6,679 fans at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, on Friday.
It's the third three-game losing skid so far this season for the Komets, who still lead the series with Toledo 5-2-0.
Connor Crisp gave Toledo a 1-0 lead after 16:46 on a goal from in the first right in front of the Komets net. Erik Bradford and Tyler Barnes had assists.
Shane Berschbach scored from the edge of the right circle to make it 2-0 Toledo after 7:59 in the third period. Luke Esposito scored an empty net goal with assists from Ryan Obuchowski and Pat Nagle at 16:25 of the third.
Shawn Szydlowski scored with an assist from Ryan Lowney after 18:46 in the third for his 19th goal of the season, 11th against Toledo.
Former Komet Nagle stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Walleye and Michael Houser saved 33 of 35 for Fort Wayne.
The Komets take on Brampton at 7:15 p.m. today. It will be the second game without Zac Larraza as he serves his two-game ECHL suspension for shooting the puck into the stands at Wheeling after he was given a penalty for high-sticking.
