The Komets’ three-man goaltending situation is no more. The NHL’s Arizona Coyotes have reassigned Sean Maguire, sending him from Fort Wayne to Utah of the ECHL. Maguire had played only twice with the Komets, going 0-2-0 with a 4.78 goals-against average and a .842 save percentage.
Maguire had been acquired by the Coyotes on Dec. 19 in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, muddying the Komets’ goaltending situation. Fort Wayne still has its top two netminders, Michael Houser and Garrett Bartus.
In other news, Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau, a former player and coach of the Komets, was a surprise visitor at practice. His son, Ben, is Gary Graham’s top assistant this season.
