Defenseman Taylor Doherty has left the Komets to play in Europe, however, the team got good news on the injury front.
Brady Shaw (head), Shawn St-Amant (upper body), Brad Morrison (lower body) and goaltender Dylan Ferguson (illness) were all able to fully participate in practice, according to coach Ben Boudreau.
The Komets played a man short of a full 18-player lineup in all three games over the weekend – losses to Kalamazoo, Tulsa and Indianapolis – but could be close to their full complement of players for Wednesday’s 7:30 p.m. game at Memorial Coliseum against Kalamazoo.
Doherty had appeared in 26 games for the Komets, accruing one goal and six points with a minus-3 rating. The Komets had acquired Doherty from the Orlando Solar Bears for future considerations on Nov. 30.
Defensemen Kyle Haas and Chase Stewart still have three games remaining on their six-game ECHL suspensions for their part in a brawl at Jacksonville, Florida, on Jan. 31.
