K's release goalie Hughes, get Corcoran back
JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette
The Komets have gotten back defenseman Connor Corcoran from Henderson of the higher-level American Hockey League and they’ve released goaltender Liam Hughes.
Corcoran has five goals and 14 points in 18 Fort Wayne games this season, and he’s had three goals in six games for the Silver Knights.
Hughes, a rookie, was 1-1-1 with a 2.97 goals-against average and a .890 save percentage. He had been slated to start Saturday’s game at Toledo, Ohio, but was absent after warmups and Mario Culina played in his place. The Komets have given no explanation for what happened with Hughes, but they now need another goalie before Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Cyclones at Memorial Coliseum.
