Ants to lose Sumner to Pacers

JUSTIN A. COHN | The Journal Gazette

With Victor Oladipo ruled out for the remainder of the Indiana Pacers’ season with a ruptured quad tendon in his right knee, the Mad Ants are likely going to lose Edmond Sumner for the remainder of the season.

Nate McMillan confirmed that today, according to multiple news outlets, including the Associated Press.

This isn’t surprising, since Sumner spent significant time with the Pacers when Oladipo sat out earlier in the season with an injury.

Sumner, a second year player, has averaged 23.9 points, 3.4 assists, 3.3 turnovers and 2.7 rebounds in 17 games this season with Fort Wayne. In four games with the Pacers, he’s played only 34 minutes and made 2 of 8 shots for five points with one assist and four turnovers.
