Purdue Fort Wayne men's volleyball head coach Ryan "Rock" Perrotte was named as the men's USA Volleyball head coach for 2019's World University Games.

He will serve as the coach for 12 players that will compete at the World University Games in July 3-14 in Napoli, Italy. The players come from across the country, including five players from the MIVA.

Perrotte is in his fourth season as head coach for the Mastodons after spending 12 seasons as the assistant coach under Arnie Ball. He and the Mastodons are 9-7 this season and No. 12 in the AVCA Top-15 Coaches Poll.

"It is truly an honor and a privilege to be selected as head coach of Team USA at the World University Games competition this summer in Napoli, Italy," Perrotte said. " I am so excited to coach these talented young men, many of whom I know from coaching against or following their collegiate careers."
