Indiana Tech basketball owns the WHAC this year.

A day after the women won their first conference title at home, the men added a bookend title with a 72-61 road upset over No. 10 Cornerstone on Tuesday in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Mitch Morken led the No. 3 seeded Warriors (22-11) with 21 points, Edmond Early added 15, Josh Kline 14 and Dylan Phair 12 as Tech shot 44.6 percent from the floor and 40 percent on 3-pointers. Sam Vander Sluis led No. 1 seed Cornerstone (25-8) with 23 points on 11 of 24 shooting.

Tech, which trailed by 13 midway through the first half, led 34-31 at halftime before pulling away in the second half. Kline hit two layups in the final two minutes to give Tech a seven-point lead before the Warriors hit four free throws to seal the win.

The Tech men’s and women’s basketball teams will have watch parties for the NAIA Selection Shows today in the Talwar Leadership Center on the second floor of the Snyder Academic Center. The men’s selection show begins at 6 p.m. while the women’s show goes on at 7 p.m. Both shows will be broadcast live on the NAIA’s Facebook page.
