A trip to the San Diego Thanksgiving Tournament highlights the 2019-20 Purdue Fort Wayne women's basketball schedule announced Wednesday.
The schedule consists of 13 non-league games, and is highlighted by the trip to San Diego on Nov. 29-30, and a road game at Butler on Dec. 22. The Mastodons' regular season will open with Purdue Northwest on Nov. 5.
Outside of Summit League play, the Mastodons will play four schools from the Mid-American Conference, two from the Ohio Valley, one from the Missouri Valley, one from the Big East, two non-Division I foes, and one future rival in the Horizon League: UIC.
The Mastodons' final season of Summit League competition starts with a New Year's Day home game against South Dakota. Purdue Fort Wayne will have two road games at North Dakota (Jan. 5) and Western Illinois (Jan. 9) before returning to Fort Wayne to play South Dakota State (Jan. 12) and Oral Roberts (Jan. 16). Two more road games at South Dakota (Jan. 24) and Omaha (Jan. 26) precede a three-game homestand with North Dakota State (Jan. 30), North Dakota (Feb. 1) and Western Illinois (Feb. 4).
The game against North Dakota State on Jan. 30 will be a doubleheader with the men's team at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The game on Feb. 1 is a doubleheader with the men's team at the Gates Sports Center, and will serve as homecoming for the Mastodons. The Mastodons' longest road game stretch in the League this season is three games, which is from Feb. 8-15, when they play Denver, NDSU and SDSU.
The Feb. 22 game against Omaha will serve as Senior Day for Sh'Toya Sanders, Sierra Bell, Hannah Albrecht, and Anna Lappenküper. It will also be the 13th annual Pink Out.
The top eight teams in the Summit League regular-season standings will earn a trip to the Summit League Tournament, which begins on March 9 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
