Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry will be a featured speaker Saturday at the 87th Annual Meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, city officials announced Thursday.
Henry will lead a mayoral best practice presentation to the conference's Workforce Development Council. Henry plans to discuss Fort Wayne United and provide attendees with information on how other cities can implement a similar program.
Fort Wayne United was started in 2016 and is under the direction of Iric Headley and a steering committee of local volunteers. The program places My Brother's Keeper and Cities United – two national programs – under one umbrella.
Saturday's annual meeting will focus on themes of infrastructure, innovation and inclusion.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors is a non-partisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more.
