Hoomestead took the lead in the first and kept it Friday afternoon, holding off a few late charges by Carroll to win 51-40 and claim the second spot in the boys SAC Holiday Tournament final.
Homestead's Luke Goode hit a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left in the first quarter and kept up the performance all day, hitting six of eight attempts from behind the arc to finish with 22 points.
With both teams playing controlled, deliberate basketball, the Spartans (7-1) took a 24-14 lead into half.
Carroll's Daniel McKeeman started heating up in the second half: he went into halftime with just two points, but hit a 3-pointer to score the Chargers' first points of the third quarter. He would hit another trey in the third quarter, and then score eight in the final period to lead Carroll (5-4) with 16.
With five minutes to go in the game, McKeeman tore down the court on a fast break and made the layup to pull the Chargers within 38-30, but that was as close as Carroll would get.
David Ejah scored eight points for the Chargers and grabbed nine rebounds and Preston Shearer scored eight points.
Zak Krueger scored nine points for the Spartans.
Homestead will face Snider in the tournament final at 7 p.m. at Wayne.
