The Central Noble girls and Blackhawk Christian boys basketball teams will both move up a classification after their recent post-season success.
The Cougar girls, who won the school's first state championship in the 2018-2019 season and made it to semi-state this season, will move up from Class 2A to Class 3A due to the success factor, according to the 2019-2021 basketball classifications released by the Indiana High School Athletic Association on Monday. The Blackhawk Christian boys, who won the school's first basketball title last month, will also move up, from Class A to 2A.
The Columbia City and New Haven girls teams, as well as the New Haven boys, will move up to Class 4A as the schools' enrollment now puts them in the largest basketball classification. The Columbia City boys already competed at 4A.
The Bishop Dwenger boys will move down to Class 3A, the same classification in which the Saints girls have played each of the last two seasons. The Fairfield boys and girls will both move down from Class 3A to 2A.
