Angola second at NECC girls golf tournament

Angola took second place at the Northeast Corner Conference tournament at Heron Creek Golf Club in LaGrange on Saturday.

The Hornets' team score of 379 trailed winner Lakeland by 10 strokes. Angola was led by Teryn Stanley, who finished third with a 13-over-par 84, eight strokes behind winner Jalee Nunemaker of Fairfield. Maddie Herman of Angola and Katie Baker of Fremont tied for fourth at 86. Kenadee Porath of Fremont and Hannah Godfrey of West Noble tied for sixth at 88. 

Sarah Cooper led Garrett with a score of 91, which put her in ninth place. Churubusco's Makenzi Tonkel and Garrett's Abby Weaver tied for 10th with a score of 93, and rounded out the list of NECC all-conference honorees.

Fremont took fifth as a team with a score of 395. Churubusco was sixth, Garrett seventh and West Noble ninth.
