DeKalb runs over Columbia City

Tanner Jack ran for three touchdowns and Tanner Huff ran in the other for DeKalb as the Barons beat Columbia City 29-14 in the first round of Class 4A Sectional 19 on Friday night.

The Eagles (4-6) scored first, on a 19-yard pass from Gregory Bolt to T.J. Bedwell, but the extra point was missed and Jack quickly evened the score his first touchdown, a four-yard run (the 2-point conversion failed). Evan Eshbach's 2-point conversion run was successful after Jack's second score in the second quarter, putting the Barons (8-2) up 14-6 at halftime. 

The Eagles tied the game in the third quarter on a 26-yard touchdown pass from Bolt to Michael Sievers, followed by a successful 2-point conversion run by Sievers, but Huff and Jack each scored a touchdown in the final quarter. Jack also ran in a 2-point conversion after Huff's touchdown and ended the game with 105 rushing yards. The Barons outgained the Ealges 274 yards to 131. 

EAST NOBLE 42, NORTHRIDGE 21: In a Class 4A sectional at East Noble, Bailey Parker was responsible for five total touchdowns (four passing) and 329 yards of total offense to keep the Knights (10-0) undefeated. Caid Lacey had 25 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns for Northridge (4-6).

FAIRFIELD 27, BLUFFTON 7: In a Class 2A sectional at Bluffton, the Tigers (7-3) led 7-6 at halftime, but Fairfield (5-5) got 18 carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns from Cory Lantz to move on. Bluffton has not won a sectional since 1988.

ADAMS CENTRAL 48, CASTEN 8: In a Class A sectional at Adams Central, Dallas Schwaller went 10 for 13 for 158 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Flying Jets (9-1). Alex Currie ran for 96 yards and two scores.

HUNTINGTON NORTH 37, SOUTH SIDE 20: In a Class 4A sectional South Side, the Vikings (3-7) got three short rushing touchdowns from Reid Johnson and a kick return score from Aden Dennis. Dillon Jackson returned a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown and added an interception return for a touchdown for the Archers (1-9).

NEW HAVEN 47, JAY COUNTY 7: In a Class 4A sectional at Jay County, quarterback Jakar Williams threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 110 yards and a fourth score to pace the Bulldogs (5-5). Dre Wright also had three rushing touchdowns.

NORTHWOOD 49, WAWASEE 3: In a Class 4A sectional at NorthWood, Gabe Moore had two catches for 41 yards for the Warriors (2-8).
