JOURNAL GAZETTE

Gunnar Fry’s field goal lifted Homestead past Noblesville in overtime Friday, 24-21. Luke Goode connected with Griffin Little for a touchdown pass on the final play of regulation to force overtime, where the Spartans (10-0) benefitted from a botched snap on a field goal try by the Millers (1-9).

EASTSIDE 13, BISHOP LUERS 6: In Butler, Laban Davis’ fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Wade Miller pushed the Blazers to the Class 2A Sectional 35 semifinal win. Despite just 123 yards of offense, the Blazers (9-2) notched just the second victory ever for the Northeast Corner Conference against the Knights (3-8) in 38 tries.

Eastside will make its first sectional final appearance since 2004 Friday.

BISHOP DWENGER 35, NORTH SIDE 22: In a Class 5A sectional at Chambers Field, Gage Renbarger notched three sacks for the Saints (9-1), who will look for their 26th sectional championship Friday. Devon Tippmann and Patrick Finley each rushed for two scores for Dwenger, while Theo Redmond notched 10 tackles for the Legends (4-6).

NORTHROP 24, GOSHEN 6: In a Class 5A sectional at Goshen, Damarius Cowen and Jeremiah Green each ran for scores as the Bruins (5-5) advanced to the title game in Sectional 11. Qualen Pettus added a receiving score for Northrop, which hasn’t won five games in a season since 2006.

LEO 10, NORTHWOOD 6: In a Class 4A sectional at Leo, Peyton Wall ran for 204 yards and a touchdown to lead the No. 10 Lions (10-1). On a night where the Panthers (7-4) turned the ball over four times, Wall, Damien Gudakunst and Rylan Crawford each picked off a pass from NorthWood quarterback Nate Newcomer, who ran for 198 yards in defeat.

CONCORDIA 17, NORWELL 14: In a Class 3A sectional at Zollner Stadium, a Joe Gutman field goal with 2:34 left lifted the Cadets (6-5) to the Sectional 27 championship game. Jalen Vanderbosch opened the scoring with an interception return for Concordia, while Eli Riley and Sam Walker each recorded 1-yard touchdown runs for Norwell (5-6).

SOUTH ADAMS 28, MONROE CENTRAL 6: In a Class 1A sectional at Berne, the No. 2 Starfires (11-0) had little trouble dispatching the Golden Bears for the second time in 2019. Christian Summersett caught one of two James Arnold touchdown passes, along with Nick Miller.

Summersett and Nic Stuber also rushed for scores for South Adams.

ADAMS CENTRAL 48, NORTH MIAMI 22: In a Class 1A sectional at Monroe, the Flying Jets (10-1) turned a pair of first-half Warrior turnovers into touchdowns. Adams Central will play for the Sectional 44 title Friday at Northfield, which upset No. 3 SouthWood 14-6.

MISHAWAKA MARIAN 42, WEST NOBLE 20: In a Class 3A sectional at Ligonier, the Chargers (10-1) surrendered 42 straight points after jumping out to a 14-0 lead within the first four minutes. Brandon Pruitt and Gustavo Taylor each scored rushing touchdowns for West Noble.
