Wrestling Team State brackets released, Bellmont is 2A No. 1-seed

Bellmont wrestling has received the No. 1 seed in the Class 2A bracket for the IHSWCA Team State tournament, which will be held Saturday. The Braves received a bye and will wrestle the winner of No. 8 Hamilton Heights-Western. 

If both teams win their first match, Bellmont could face fourth-seeded Garrett – the defending Class 2A champion – in the semifinals. The Railroaders received a bye and will face the winner of No. 5 Oak Hill-Charlestown in the quarterfinals. No. 7 Wawasee will open against New Prairie at the bottom of the bracket, with the winner to move on to No. 2 Delta. 

Adams Central is seeded seventh in the Class 1A bracket and will face Southmont, with the winner moving on to face No. 2 Tell City. 

Both the 1A and 2A brackets will be contested at Martinsville. Class 3A will be at Franklin Community and Class 4A at Brownsburg, but no Fort Wayne-area teams will be competing in the large school brackets.
