Eshbach steps down after 1 season as Concordia football coach
VICTORIA JACOBSEN | The Journal Gazette
Concordia head football coach Mike Eshbach is stepping down after one season, the school announced Monday. The Cadets went 2-8 in their lone season under Eshbach, beating South Side in Week 1 and Northwestern in the sectional opener.
The Cadets are now in search of the 11th coach in program history and their third in three years. The Cadets had just three coaches – Paul Fluegge, Dean Doerffler, and current athletic director Tim Mannigel – from 1985 through the 2020 season.
Eshbach was previously the head coach at Wawasee during the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Eastside from 2008 to 2016 and Paoli in 2000. He had a career record of 55-80. According to the school's announcement, Eshbach will continue to breed and train service dogs with his family business.
