Blackhawk Christian boys now Class 2A No. 1

Blackhawk Christian boys basketball moved into the top spot in the AP Class 2A rankings released Tuesday, jumping two spots. The Braves (13-1) received eight of 11 first-place votes. 

Former No. 1 Central Noble (15-1) fell to No. 3 after suffering its first loss of the season against Eastside last week, although the Cougars still received two first-place votes. The Blazers (15-1) moved up two spots to No. 4 in the wake of that win. 

In the Class 3A rankings, Leo (9-2) climbed two spots to No. 4. NorthWood (15-1) remains No. 1 in the classification with five first-place votes. Norwell (12-3) received votes. 

Chesterton (14-0) is the unanimous No. 1 in Class 4A. Homestead (13-5) and Snider (9-3) each received votes. 

No local teams received votes in Class A, but Gary 21st Century (11-2) climbed one spot and is the new No. 1, taking nine of 11 first-place votes.
