BBB announces Torch Award winners

Journal Gazette

The BBB Serving Northern Indiana announced recipients of the 2020 Torch Award, recognizing the honorees for exemplifying the highest of marketplace ethics.

All award winners demonstrate “a high level of trust among their team members, their customers and their communities,” said a news release from the nonprofit Better Business Bureau, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The 2020 honorees join a select group of only 84 other companies in northern Indiana companies and individuals that have received the BBB recognition since the Torch Awards began in 2006.

BBB chose to celebrate each honoree with an in-person award presentation due to COVID-19 restrictions on large-scale events, the release said. Award recipients received their personalized trophy, an outdoor display banner and cookies from BBB A+ rated Cookie Cottage.

“The BBB is an expert in recognizing and promoting trustworthy businesses, and we believe it is essential to celebrate those businesses that are models of ethical practices. The 2020 honorees stood out to our independent panel of judges as those that work to promote trust, integrity and an ethical marketplace,” said a statement from Marjorie Stephens, president and CEO of BBB Serving Northern Indiana. “BBB's mission is to be the leader in advancing marketplace trust and we're honored to celebrate those businesses that 'Do It Right.'”
