PEOPLE AND PLACES

Giving back

• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend received a $5,000 emergency grant from OSV Institute to aid in the Afghan refugee integration and resettlement program. The money will be used to fill the urgent basic needs of the newly resettled refugees and to widen community advocacy and support for the program.

• The Huntington County Community Foundation gave $3,000 to the Anthony Wayne Area Council Boy Scouts for America to develop an Eagle Scout Recognition Center established by Dr. John E. Regan and his five Eagle Scout sons. The award is part of a $15,500 endowment established by the Regan family.

• Audiences Unlimited, in partnership with Fort Wayne Youtheatre, was approved for a $10,000 Challenge America award to support an Adaptive Narrative Theatre Program, pairing neurodiverse and neurotypical youth. This project will offer youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and neurotypical youth the opportunity to participate in a live, staged theatre production.
