'Jeopardy!' gets local contestant

Staff, news services

A local man will appear on “Jeopardy!” next week.

Wayne Erxleben will compete on the quiz show April 24, a representative for the show confirms. It airs at 7:30 p.m. on WANE, Channel 15.

It has not been announced how Erxleben fares on the quiz show and if he will appear in subsequent episodes.

“Jeopardy!” is hosted by Alex Trebek, who revealed in March that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Kotb adopts again

“Today” show co-anchor Hoda Kotb's family has grown.

In a telephone call on Tuesday, the 54-year-old told her colleagues that she has adopted a second child. Hope Catherine joins 2-year-old sister Haley Joy.

Kotb adopted Haley Joy in 2017.

Kotb says Haley is marching around saying “I'm a big sister.” She says Haley wanted to feed Hope raspberries for breakfast.

Fans beware

Leaked footage of Marvel's highly guarded “Avengers: Endgame” has prompted spoiler-averse fans to retreat from social media.

The long-awaited superhero film is due in theaters April 26 and has already been breaking box-office presale records. Disney has made painstaking efforts to obscure “Endgame's” content, but the leak undercut those efforts as spoiler-heavy footage made its way online this week.

Fans tweeted that they were “terrified” to read any spoilers online, and others wrote that they'd be leaving social media until they watched the movie – the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has been more than a decade in the making.

Some clips have already been removed or disabled because of copyright infringement. Representatives for Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The film is expected to answer questions raised by “Avengers: Infinity War” about the fates of the galaxy's mightiest superheroes. The trailers span just 10 combined minutes for a movie that clocks in at three hours and two minutes.
