The Foellinger Foundation on Tuesday announced a $1 million grant to fund a literacy program run by the Allen County Public Library.
The money will provide support over three years to the library's Summer Learning Program, which organizers say has reached thousands of children, teens and adults through learning programs and free lunches.
"The Summer Learning Program creates a community of lifelong learners and encourages family literacy," foundation President Cheryl Taylor said in a statement. "We are proud to support the program as it has become one of Foellinger Foundation's Signature Grants."
