Planned Parenthood open again

Website says it's on Lake, but no abortions provided

JIM CHAPMAN | The Journal Gazette

Planned Parenthood apparently has reopened in Fort Wayne after closing more than a year ago.

According to Planned Parenthood's website, the agency has opened the Fort Wayne Health Center at 2930 Lake Ave.

The health center is open Monday through Friday. It is closed the fourth Monday of every month and open only on the fourth Saturday of every month.

Planned Parenthood could not be reached for comment Thursday night.

According to the website, the Fort Wayne Health Center does not provide abortion services but does offer abortion referrals.

The center also offers birth control; general health care; HIV testing; LGBTQ services; men's health care; the morning after pill; pregnancy testing; STD testing, treatment and vaccines; and women's health care.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky announced the closing of its Fort Wayne office at 3914 W. Jefferson Blvd. in July 2018, saying harassment and intimidation by anti-abortion rights activists prompted the decision.
