A man has been arrested after a shooting in the small Kosciusko County town of Etna Green.
About 11 p.m. Saturday, the county 911 Communications Center received a report of a shooting victim in Milford. Emergency personnel found Michael Reynolds, 45, from North Webster, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen.
Police said Reynolds was initially uncooperative but eventually told police he was shot by Shawn McCrum, 53, of Etna Green during an altercation. Reynolds told police he drove from Etna Green to Milford, about 20 miles, after he was shot. Reynolds was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office traveled to the East State Street home in Etna Green where Reynolds said the shooting occurred. Police were able to hear movement inside the house but got no response.
The sheriff's office deployed a SWAT team, which broke through a door and ordered McCrum out of the home.
McCrum surrendered without incident and was taken to Kosciusko County Jail. A news release did not list charges but noted that there is a “prosecutorial no bond-hold, pending completion of the investigation.”
Nobody hurt in northeast blaze
