Lagemann files for 1st election

Was County Council replacement

JIM CHAPMAN | The Journal Gazette

An Allen County councilman who was appointed to the council in October will seek his first elected term.

Paul Lagemann filed papers Friday with the county election board seeking the Republican nomination for the 3rd District seat that covers northwest Allen County.

A Republican caucus appointed Lagemann to the council in late October to replace Joel Benz, who was hired as Three Rivers Ambulance Authority's executive director.

The County Council's 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th district seats are up for election this year.

Councilman Tom Harris has filed for the Republican nomination for a fourth term representing District 2.

Cameron Kelley is seeking the Republican nomination for the District 4 seat held by Republican Chris Spurr, who had not filed as of Friday.

Candidates have until noon Feb. 4 to file for the May 3 Republican and Democratic primary elections. The general election is Nov. 8.
