Phoenix Fort Wayne, LLC, an affiliate of Phoenix Investors, LLC based in Milwaukee, has acquired International Park in Fort Wayne, a statement from Phoenix Investors said Tuesday night.
Located within the Fort Wayne Enterprise Zone at 2701 South Coliseum Blvd., the 1.46 millionsquare foot industrial complex is the site of the former historic International Harvester TruckPlant.
The International Park complex has subsequently been re-purposed into a contemporary multi-tenant industrial and commercial complex. International Park is on about 129 acres and has about 24 separate structures, active rail service, trailer parking and outside storage, Phoenix Investors said.
Phoenix Investors said it continues to expand its industrial portfolio throughout the Midwest and Southeast United States, focusing on former single tenant industrial properties between 200,000 and 2-million square feet.
Phoenix's portfolio has grown to about 11 million square feet and stretches across 19 states, the company said.
"We will respect the historical and economic significance of this property’s past while executing improvements that will make it a competitive industrial and commercial complex into the 21st century," David Marks, managing director of Phoenix, said.
Phoenix said it will staff International Park with local workers and management.
"We intend to work closely with Indiana based leasing firms in combination with our in-house personnel to continue to provide quality space and quality service at an affordable rental rate," said Frank Crivello, executive vice president of Phoenix.
Crivello said he and his team look forward to working with the city of Fort Wayne, Greater Fort Wayne, Inc., Greater Fort Wayne Metro Chamber Alliance, Inc., and other local governmentagencies, as Phoenix redevelops the historic site.
