13th ex-BAE worker pleads guilty to fraud

MATTHEW LEBLANC | The Journal Gazette

Cynequa M. Relue admitted in federal court Wednesday to stealing from a local defense contractor through a tuition assistance program.

Relue, also known as Cynequa M. Warfield, is the 13th former BAE Systems employee to plead guilty in U.S. District Court in Fort Wayne to wire fraud in the case. Thirty-one workers are charged in the scheme.

The company offered upfront payments to workers who signed up for college classes. Employees used company software to make it seem as though they took the classes, but they didn't, according to court documents.

Relue stole $34,500, court documents say. A plea agreement calls for her to pay back the money.
