Allen Superior Court Judge Wendy Davis teased her candidacy for Allen Circuit Court judge on social media Sunday evening.
Davis will officially announce she is seeking the post at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Rousseau Centre lobby, she said on Twitter.
This would make her the first person to declare candidacy for the seat occupied by Allen Circuit Court Judge Thomas Felts, a Republican. He plans to retire at the end of his term, which expires Dec. 31.
“I'm thrilled at the opportunity to continue to grow the work Judge Felts has done, especially with the problem-solving Veterans and Restoration Court,” Davis tweeted.
Davis presides over felony criminal cases and served as chief judge – a two-year term – in 2014-15. She took the bench in 2011.
