Wayne, St. Joseph officials to run again
DEVAN FILCHAK | The Journal Gazette
Three officials in Allen County's two largest townships are seeking reelection.
Austin Knox declared Tuesday his candidacy for Wayne Township trustee, and Beverly Zuber filed Monday to run for reelection as Wayne Township assessor.
Knox was selected unanimously by a caucus in 2020 to replace Rick Stevenson, who retired.
Knox, a Democrat who was formerly deputy trustee, has worked for Fort Wayne's largest township for about seven years.
Zuber, a Democrat, ran unopposed in 2018 and was first elected as assessor in 2006.
St. Joseph Township Trustee Sarah Gnagy, a Republican, filed her candidacy with the Allen County Election Board on Friday. She defeated Democrat Carol Griffin in the 2018 election.
Gnagy was first elected as trustee in 2010.
The incumbents are currently unopposed in the May 3 primary election.
Candidates began filing Jan. 5 for Republican and Democratic primaries. The deadline to file is noon Feb. 4.
The general election is Nov. 8.
