WADSWORTH, Ohio -- Authorities say a man has been fatally shot by law enforcement officers in a municipal parking lot outside Akron.
A spokesman for the Ohio Attorney General's Office says the unidentified man killed around 8 p.m. Thursday in Wadsworth was 26 years old.
Spokesman David O'Neill says six Wadsworth police officers and two Medina County sheriff's deputies were in the parking lot when the man was killed but wouldn't say which officers fired shots or provide other details, citing an investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Wadsworth is about 15 miles west of downtown Akron.
It was the third fatal police shooting in Ohio this week.
Wadsworth police planned to hold a news conference about the shooting Friday afternoon.
