A man was killed and a woman seriously injured following a shooting early Monday on Fort Wayne's south side, Fort Wayne police said.
The Allen County coroner's office identified the slain man as James Jarreau Williams, 31.
He was found in the parking lot of Foster's Sports Pub, 4226 S. Clinton St.
At 3:01 a.m. Monday, Fort Wayne police officers near Lafayette Street and McKinnie Avenue heard gunshots coming from the parking lot to the west side of the 4200 block of South Clinton Street.
There, officers found Williams and Kayla Danielle Anderson, 33, suffering from gunshot wounds.
Williams and Anderson were taken to a hospital in critical and serious condition, respectively. Williams died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Anderson was still in serious condition Monday afternoon.
Williams' death was ruled a homicide by the coroner, making him the 27th homicide victim in Allen County this year.
Investigators were trying to determine Monday what caused the shooting.
No suspect information was available, and police did not know the relationship between the victims.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Fort Wayne Police Department.
