Fatal crash on Butler knocks out power

Journal Gazette

Fort Wayne police are investigating a fatal crash on Butler Road early Wednesday that caused a power outage after the driver hit a utility pole.

About 6:30 a.m., emergency crews were called to Butler Road and Midnight Pass.

Officers found an SUV that had traveled east on Butler Road, left the road just west of Midnight Pass and hit a utility pole, sheering it in half. Power was lost in the immediate area, police said.

Investigators believe the male driver had some type of medical event that caused the crash, police said.

Butler Road was closed while investigators documented the scene.

Possible witnesses to fatal shooting sought

Fort Wayne police are looking for three people they believe may have witnessed a fatal shooting outside Broadway Grill, 1420 Broadway, on March 15.

William Adamonis, 31, was shot inside a vehicle that was leaving the bar that night, city police said.

The vehicle traveled a few blocks before coming to a stop at Van Buren Street and Michaels Avenue, where police found him. He died at a hospital.

The photos were taken from a surveillance camera inside Broadway Grill that night, authorities said.

Anyone with information on the possible witnesses is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 437-7867.
