Pallet fire closes roads in Bluffton
JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette
The Bluffton Fire Department responded a pallet barn fire near Lowe's around 4:15 p.m., according to the department's Facebook posts and dispatch at the Bluffton Police Department.
The fire occurred at 3650 East 200 North, Bluffton police said.
Smoke was seen as far away as Huntington, Interstate 69, Marion and Portland, the Facebook post said. As of 6:15 p.m., multiple roads were shut down and traffic was backed up.
At that same time, posts on the Bluffton Fire Department Facebook page indicated that emergency workers were having difficulties getting to the scene and asked that people avoid the area.
No cause was given for the fire.
