The Journal Gazette
A late-afternoon crash Tuesday in DeKalb County sent two people to Parkview Regional Medical Center.
The county sheriff's department said in a news release that a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Guy Shatto of Waterloo was southbound on I-69 at the 323 mile marker and went off the roadway into the median. The vehicle, a 2007 Ford Econoline, hit the cable barrier and continued to hit it for about 200 feet.
A news release said the driver was likely having a medical emergency. A front-seat passenger in the vehicle, David Landin, 46, of Fort Wayne, experienced back pain. Both the Shatto and Landin were taken to the Fort Wayne medical center by EMS, the release said.
The vehicle was totaled.
