Five people were shot, three fatally, on Fort Wayne's south side late Thursday, police said.

Police arrived at the 6100 block of Downingtown Drive, near East Paulding Road and South Hanna Street, about 10:30 p.m.

The neighborhood is immediately south of Towles Intermediate School.

When they arrived, police found five victims, four inside and one outside. Two males and a female victim were pronounced dead at scene, police spokesman Jason Anthony said.

Two male victims were taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The victims names were not released. Police had no suspects late Thursday.

About 20 family and friends of the victims gathered across the street from the home, which was cordoned off by caution tape. Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control was also at the scene.

If the deaths are ruled homicides, the deaths will be Allen County's 41st, 42nd and 43rd of the year.
