Cordell D. Patterson Jr, 22, who had been wanted for questioning in the death of a Fort Wayne woman, was charged today with murder and robbery.
Patterson fled to his mother's home in Mississippi after he learned that he killed Laura E. Larkin in her Cass Street home Nov. 26, according to court documents.
After he strangled her, he stole her Mercedes Benz and drove it to the south side of Fort Wayne, stopping at a gas station to withdraw $20 using one of Larkin's credit cards.
Her body was discovered by her roommate who called police around 5:30 p.m.
An initial court hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
