A woman was stabbed to death Saturday on the city's south side.
Police were called about 10:40 p.m. to 1610 Roosevelt Drive, where they found the woman lying in the middle of the road suffering from a stab wound. She was taken to a hospital, where she died.
Investigators believe there was a disagreement involving several people before the stabbing, according to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Detectives were interviewing witnesses and hoping to have information on a suspect.
A spokesman for the department said there were “numerous witnesses” and that the stabbing is under investigation.
The Allen County coroner's office will release the cause and manner of death and the victim's identification at a later date. If the death is declared a homicide, it will be the 18th in Allen County this year.
