JAMIE DUFFY | The Journal Gazette

A 38-year-old man was arrested Friday morning, charged with running a drug operation out of a home on Hamilton Avenue.

About 10 a.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department's Vice and Narcotics Division along with a SWAT team served a search warrant at 1115 Hamilton Ave., taking Antonio L. Vaughn, 38, into custody, according to a news release from Capt. Kevin Hunter of the Vice and Narcotics Division.

Vaughn was charged with three counts of cocaine or narcotic drug dealing, one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and one count for maintaining a common nuisance.

Police issued a search warrant after conducting surveillance and making numerous drug buys from Vaughn.

Two juveniles were removed from the home and after the Indiana Department of Child Services was contacted, the two minors were released to a family member.

Police found 55 grams of marijuana, five grams of crack cocaine, two semi-automatic pistols and drug paraphernalia.

Police also searched 4636 Spatz Ave. in relation to this case and found one man who was not charged with any crime. There, police found a Norinco MAK-90 rifle and a .38 special revolver that had been stolen from a home in New Haven in January. Police also found $5,700 in cash.
