Fort Wayne police Tuesday asked for the community's help after another young boy was shot at home.
“We need to continue to work together to put an end to this,” spokeswoman Sgt. Sofia Rosales-Scatena said in a statement.
A 13-year-old was hurt about 10:45 p.m. Monday when he went to answer knocking at the front door of a home in the 3800 block of Euclid Avenue, north of Rudisill Boulevard east of South Anthony Boulevard, police said.
Hours earlier, Rosales-Scatena decried similar violence that badly injured an 8-year-old boy over the weekend.
“Our detectives are working tirelessly on these shootings,” she said Tuesday.
The teen was taken to a hospital, where it was determined his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Police have “very little information” about the shooting but said multiple shots were fired.
There were no suspects Tuesday.
Police have said the 8-year-old boy who suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds early Sunday is improving.
He was inside a home in the 3200 block of Logan Avenue when someone fired a gun at the residence, police have said.
Logan Avenue is also in southeast Fort Wayne, just south of New Haven Avenue west of Coliseum Boulevard South.
There is no indication the shootings are related, Rosales-Scatena said.
Those with information about these or any shootings may call police at 260-427-1201 or Crime Stoppers at 260-436-7867.
