Crash badly injures woman

A woman was badly injured in a crash Friday morning on Fort Wayne's northeast side, police said.

Officers said she was turning her SUV north onto Inwood Drive from Lake Avenue about 8 a.m. when she was hit by another vehicle going west on Lake.

The crash caused the SUV to flip onto its side, and the woman was trapped inside before firefighters cut away the vehicle's roof.

The woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Ohio man accused of child sex abuse

A Defiance, Ohio, man has been charged in a child sexual abuse complaint, the Defiance County Sheriff's Department said Friday.

William Shock, 67, was charged with gross sexual imposition, and was being held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, the sheriff's department said.

Sheriff Doug Engel said the case alleges Shock had sexual contact with a child younger than 12 years old. He said the case has been forwarded to the county prosecutor's office for review.

The county's Job and Family Services children's service division assisted, Engel said.

Bus rear-ended, no students hurt 

No students were injured when a car rear-ended a Huntington County school bus on U.S. 24 Friday morning near Cedar Run Apartments in Huntington, school officials said.

Students from Riverview Middle School and Huntington North High School were on the bus at the time. 

Road conditions were not a contributing factor as U.S. 24 was clear at the time of the crash, officials said.
