Two men with gunshot wounds walked into a hospital after police were called to a shooting on Fort Wayne's south side.
Hospital staff called police at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday saying the two men were taken by private conveyance to the emergency room and would be taken to another hospital for treatment. One of the men had life-threatening injuries, said Officer Jason Anthony, city police public information officer.
Neither man was identified by police.
Police were called at 10:03 p.m. to the 2500 block of Calhoun Street near Suttenfield Street where gunshots were reported nearby. Officers found an abandoned vehicle with one of its doors open in a nearby alley, Anthony said.
Evidence near the vehicle suggested it was involved in the shooting, and other evidence indicated gunshots had been fired in a parking near the 2700 block of Calhoun.
Detectives interviewed potential witnesses and reviewed surveillance video in the area. The case remains under investigation by Fort Wayne police and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
