A section of Interstate 69 has reopened in Steuben County after an early morning crash closed down a section of the road, the county sheriff's department said today.
At 5:20 a.m., Ronald Sherard, 44, of Cairo, Ohio, was driving a semi north on Interstate 69 near Angola when for an unknown reason the semi left the road, the sheriff's department said in a statement.
The semi crossed the northbound lanes and rolled over in the median, with part of the semi in the road, the statement said.
It said Sherard, who was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to Cameron Memorial Community Hospital and later transferred to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with non-life threatening injuries.
The passing lane at the 344-mile marker was restricted until early afternoon while crews worked to remove the semi.
