Man found on fire dies

Police initially called to a trash can fire in a Fort Wayne alley early today discovered a male victim ablaze, according to a news release.

Officers and firefighters arrived in the 1000 block of Kinsmoor Avenue at 2:10 a.m. A caller told emergency dispatchers about the garbage bin blaze, but later said a body was at the location as well. The caller and emergency crews tried to save the victim, police said.

Paramedics pronounced the person dead at the scene of the incident.

An investigation is underway. Police are trying to determine if the death is a suicide or homicide, and at this time are considering the death suspicious.
